I've got a 2.4ghz Q6600 Quad, 2Gb DDR2 RAM and a Radeon HD3600 (or something like that).

I thought that just any kind of socket 775 mobo would work, but mine doesn't. So what is something cheap I can get to replace my old motherboard?

Newegg has a biostar open box g31-m7 te for $31.50 plus shipping. Biostar will send you a backplate for free if you email them with the model number. These boards come with no accessories and a 15 day warranty, last time I checked. I've ordered about a dozen open box newegg boards, and only one failed within the warranty, and newegg gave me a refund.
