this is my system i just built https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/ [...] ID=9152386

I am having a problem where the system will just power off randomly. It doesn't seem tied to the cpu overheating because my cpu temp and system temp hover right around 31 Celsius. It also is not the Os for I have had the same problem with XP, Vista, and Ubuntu. I switched the power cord for the cpu around from the 6 pin to the 4 pin and it seems to be staying on during XP, stayed on during a good session of TF2 and an over night torrent downloading, but still shuts off randomly during Vista.

Your motherboard doesn't support your CPU.

You need a different mobo or a differnt CPU.

Before changing mobo or cpu, try this it cost nothing. Go to control panel-> power options and put high performance (that's in vista). My brother had that problem and it fixed it. Why? Dunno XD

LOL. The CPU is rated at 125W the mobo is not. When the CPU need its watts it dont get it and it crashes.
