what are the differences... AMD 790 vs nForce 780

I tending to assemble a new PC

I choosed AMD athlon X2 6000+ CPU

but I'll buy an AM2+ supporting motherboard to be ready tp upgrade to phenom at anytime

the top chips are AMD 790 and nForce 780

what are the differences between both to chhose the best for me

AMD 790 is the AMD chipset.
The 980 is the nVidia chipset.

it is clear that one is nVidia's and one is AMD's

I meant differences in performance or functions

does any do something less or more than the other one ????

Its just a number, dont take that as they are copies of one another or what not.

790FX/790GX are AMD chipsets for AMD processors, they support ATI CrossfireX

730i, 750i, 780i, and 790i are Nvidia chipsets for Intel processors. 720a, 750a, and 780a are Nvidia chipsets for AMD processors. All those support Nvidia SLi.
