Hey guys,

Been a while since I've posted here. I built a new PC 6 months ago and have my i7 920 overclocked to 3.8. It's been running flawlessly on vista 64 since then (never had a BSOD). My question is, should my overclock be affected at all by a clean install of windows 7? I will be formatting and installing the new OS this afternoon. Is there any reason for me to be worried? Thanks.

If you overclocked in the BIOS, then nothing will affect it. obviously if you used windows overclocking software (not ideal), then you would lose those settings.

bios overclocking is the best way, set it and forget it ;)

Mine is OC to 3.8 also.
I just installed Windows 7 over the weekend and did not have to redo mt OCing.
I did a clean install.

Go for it and good luck.

I love W7!
