Hi everybody,

I'm a long time lurker and Tom's reader, but just signed up today. :)

Ok, fast question. This weekend I built my new machine and used the Intel E8400 retail kit. It was an easy build, and seems to be running great. When I added the Heatsink/fan to the CPU I didn't add any thermal grease -- I think it was already on the Intel supplied fan. Is that right?

The CPU seems to be running about 33C from CMOS (so maybe 43C core?).

PS: I'm not doing any OCing...... yet. :)

Thanks,
EasyPickens

The intel heatsink has already thermal grease so you are fine. Use realtemp to monitor accurate temps.

Thats what it looked like to me, but I just couldn't find it written down in the instructions for the CPU and I wanted to make sure.

I will check out realtemp when I get home tonight. :)

Thank you,
Rick
