hello im kinda a first time ocer i mean ive overclocked before btu not much.
so i need some help overclocing my p2 720 be i can get it stable at 3.5 well at leaast i think its stable havent run any test yet. when i go to 3.6 icant get it stable. it crashes then restarts. i know this isnt the threshold.
i have a after market cooler my temps are o higher then 30 c .
i have this ram mobo and i dont think you need to know the cpu you already do.
if anyone can recomend any good software i have cpu-z,everest,prime95 but i dont know how to use it right, speed fan,everest,3d marks 06, occtpt, and core temp.
oh yeah almost forgot i can unlock the 4th core but liek i said dont know if i can overclock that or even if its stable.
here are my ccpu specs according to cpu-z
core voltage 1.344v
core speed 3523.7mghz
multiplyer 17.5
bus speed 201.4mhgz
ht link 2013. 4mhgz
memory specs

fsb/dram 3:8
cas latency 5.0

if you need m ore info let me know and i will get it for you thanks in advance
You have to crank up the voltage if you want to reach 3.6 and beyond.
I am running 3.6 @1.536v, if I go lower prime95 fails.
This seems to be a common finding amongst various review sites as well.
Many claim 3.7 GHz is possible at ~1.5V, but I cannot get it stable.
Keep an eye on the temp though when cranking up voltage. It seems it is recommended to stay around 50C for longevity.
I have a thermalright black 120 cooler, which keeps my 720 very cool <40C even at load (3.6GHz).
Also, when (if) you get 3.6GHz stable, you can experiment with increasing speed/voltage on NB/HT. Higher freq on NB means faster cache amongst others, which makes a difference in memory intensive apps.
