I have a Palm Tungsten C which I've connected to my previous Verizon
phone (a Motorola V60) by a cable, and was able to go on line with the
Palm over the cell phone.

I just got a Motorola V710 and connected it to the Palm. When I have
the Palm try to connect, nothing happens. The phone does not respond at
all to the attempts to connect from the palm. Anyone know if this will
work, or if a change in settings is needed?
