OK, so recently lightning struck my house, raping my old pc. I had insurance on it, thank god, but i OC'ed my cpu, which voided my HP warranty.

My insurance company is giving me $1,500 back for a new computer, and im just wondering which pc would be better and more futureproof.

Id also like it if you guys reccommended some cooling systems, and other ways wo help my setup.

Im cpying and pasting right of cyberpowerpc.com because i dont have time to type all of this out.

Ok, so..

Im willing to thow a little of my money in there too.

Any suggestions or changes that i should make to either rig?

More about : setup

i just made it a little bit easier on the eyes.

the details are under the pictures.

Neither. Those systems have nVidia chipsets while using ATI cards. Not that that's a particular problem, but you won't be able to run CrossFire ,if that's something that interests you. The other thing is I would be avoiding nVidia chipsets at all costs right now considering all the problems surrounding them lately. If you get any input into the build, I would go with an Intel chipset (X38/X48/P45).

i have no intention of running crossfire, but i will look into a different motherboard.

one of them has a 4870x2 and one of them has a 4870.

The PSU may be cutting it short dude 420w for all that AND a sound card... idk
August 19, 2008 7:40:37 PM

If you have no intention of going CrossFire, then look at the p35 or p45 chipsets. They'll definitely serve you better than Nvidia.

The 420w psu is a lie. Cyberpowerpc lies. In the details it says 750w Thermaltake Toughpower. It should be enough to power all of my fans, pretty lights, and hardware. :)

so my setup right now is:

Apevia X-Jupiter Jr. Case (G Type Metallic Gray Color with Side-Window)

12in COLD CATHODE NEON LIGHT [+10] (BLUE COLOR)

CPU Heatsink: Vigor Gaming Monsoon II Lite CLT-M2LI LGA775 CPU Air Conditioner Cooling System

HDD: Single Hard Drive (500GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD)

MOTHERBOARD: ($10 off Mail-in Rebate) MSI P45 Neo-F P45 Chipset LGA775 Supports Core 2 Duo CPU FSB1333 DDR2/800 Mainboard w/GbLAN,USB2.0,&7.1Audio

NETWORK: ONBOARD 10/100 NETWORK CARD

PRO_WIRING: Professional Wiring for All WIRINGs Inside The System Chasis with High Performance Thermal Compound on CPU

POWERSUPPLY: 800 Watts Xion SuperNova Power Supply - Quad SLI Ready)

SOUND: Creative Labs SB Audigy SE

VIDEO: ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB DDR5 PCI-Express Dual DVI-I & TVO (Major Brand Powered by ATI)

Total Price: $1603-$80..
