Go into your BIOS and see if it sees your hard drive in there. If so, you may have a boot sector virus and may need to restore your MBR.

How do I get to my BIOS?

Getting into the bios set up is different for many computers.
Download the entire manual from the manufacturer website for your model number.
The manual will show you which keys to hold down, while the computer is starting UP.
Then go into bios set up, and set the HDD to boot first.
