Hi everyone, im new to the forums here.i am going to build my own gaming rig consisting of c2q (q6600)or(q8200),antec 300 case, antec 650 earthwatts psu,g.skill or corsair memory ddr2 1066 2x2 4gb,haven't desided on the gpu it's a toss up between 9800gt or ati hd 4850?ms vista home premium 32bit,lite-on optical drive, western digital 1tb hdd,and Dell S2209W 22-inch lcd(recommendations are welcome).i've read on web somewhere that the q6600 is better considering it's 8mb cache vs 4mb on the q8200,and overclocking potential on the q6600 is great in all but i don't even know how yet,but would like to learn.which gets to my main point on writing this can and will the q8200 run emulator, vmware,or anyother virual software?i was wondering because alot of reviews state that it doesn't have vt technology.on the other hand the q6600 does, but is manufactured on 65nm vs 45nm on the q8200.im looking towards future proofing my new rig as best i can, because i wont be upgrading to core i7 anything anytime soon due to the fact they aren't AFFORDABLE!

Um, game emulators are irrelevant. They run on anything. VMware and other virtual will be totally fine on the q6600, but they will probably be slower on the q8200 since it doesn't have VT.

After overclocked, the q6600 is a bit quicker. Your motherboard chipset is what will determine your overclockability. An intel p35 or p45 is going to be best on a budget. The X series is for the hardcore guys.
