Hello helpful friends at Tom's! I decided to start trying to overclock my 1.7 year old custom built computer. I have read several threads here on overclocking the CPU and Memory and learned what I consider to be a great deal to me. However, due to the HUGE amounts of settings and the way different manufactuer's call the same things I am not sure how well I understand my current set up.

I am using as the title describes a Q6600 CPU, GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard, with a EVGA 512-P3-N841-A3 GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported video card and Kingston 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR667D2N5K2/4G for RAM.

If anyone has a setup with similar set up and could walk me thru a step by step line by line bios walkthru of moderate overclocking for the setup I would greatly appreciate it. Screenshots would also be awesome if possible. I am currently playing some games and the performace is just not what it was when I built this. I am not looking for numbers that are extreme just some decent starting off numbers with a description of some steps to increase each setting.

I know I am asking for a lot but I know that there are a LOT of helpful people here and I would greatly appreciate any help possible.

Thank you,

John
