When I try to play Doom 3, I lose signal on my monitor for a few seconds and I get a VPU recovery error. I've patched it to the latest version (1.3.1), ran it in compatibility mode, and I've tried all different types of settings. It's the only game that has ever done this to me, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I've tried searching Google for results, but the only thread I found that was relevant, ended without an answer.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is it ATI specific?

Here's my setup.
Visiontek Radeon HD 3850 512mb
Core 2 Duo E6300 @2.8Ghz
Evga 680i SLI Rev.A1
2x Seagate Barracuda .11 500GB, 2x Western Digital 500GB Green Power
Thermaltake Toughpower 550w
Antec 900
Catalyst 8.5

could just be a corrupted file. Have you tried reinstalling it?

Triple Buffering wasn't even enabled. I will try to reinstall it though.
