I know this isn't the best place for this question, but I wasn't sure where else to go.

What is a 'good' server response time for a web server? I've been tracking mine, and a few competitors over at Pingdom, and I'm not sure how to interpret the data I got.

(Averages over 2 weeks)

My site: 705ms
Competitor I: 624ms
Competitor II: 567ms
Competitor III: 387ms

Now, I know we are talking less than half a second between me and my fastest competitor, but I am twice as slow. What is a 'good' Response Time? I've heard Google factors Server Response Time into into PR calculations, and I'm curious if my slower times are hurting me.

Thanks in advance for any/all advise.
