Hello, I discovered this forum a while back but have not been around much. Seem to be alot of knowledgeable people on here so I though maybe I could get some help on here.

I have an issue with my HD3870. I cannot get any AA what so ever in games. It used to be fine but about two weeks ago it happened all fo a sudden. The AA did not work no matter what the settings are on.

Also, I used to run around 350-375 in the freestone stability test. I now run 80 - 88.

First thing I did was run driver cleaner and reinstall drivers (Cat 8.8). This did not help anything. I defragged, cleaned and tuned up everything I could think of. I did a page file defrag. I tried diffent versions of drivers (older and newest) I tried reinstalling the drivers from the disc that came with the card and got no improvement.

I finally said screw it and formatted and reinstalled windows. This did not cure the problem. I still am running 80 - 88 fps in the test and my games still have no AA and my guns are seeming slow.

Is it possible that it is an actual problem with the card its self? I dont know it a certain part of the card can fail and cause this.

I would appreciate any help I can get or if maybe somebody can tell me if a card itself can fail and cause this.

my specs are

X38-DS4
E8400
2GB Crucial Ballistix 800
HIS IceQ3 HD3870 Stock clock, temps stay around 48 - 55. 1900x1200 res
OCZ powerstream 520W
Maxtor 500GB (main)
WD 250GB
Windows Vista Home Premium. All updates installed. Search, superfetch, defrag, defender are all stopped. I did not install a Antivirus after the fresh install so I can rule that out. Im lost here :??:
