Windows xp is not reconizing my segate barracuda 7200.11

I recently purchased a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 harddrive. I have installed it in a Eagle Consus storage case. My problem is when i connect it to my laptop. My laptop just says found new hardware, but does not reconize it? What am i doing wrong? Is there a software i need to download to get it to work?
