Any good?? I'm not a massive gamer but would like to play some games like Call of Duty 4 with some decent settings, would this card do the trick?!? Not really looking to break the bank just very budget I'm afraid, so will be looking to spend around £30, any suggestions welcome if this is crap -
aaa here we go i like this better. i had the xfx 8600gtXXX which newegg doesn't sell but this is a little more powerful than the one i had and its cheaper than the ATI card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814127306

the nvidia 86xx series is junk. go for either an ati hd3850 or hd4670 (both perform about the same). if you must have nvidia, go for a 9600gso, 8800gt or 9800gt. 9600gso being the worst performer of the 3 nvidia cards.

Hi thanks for those suggestions, what about the POWERCOLOR
HD3450 512MB as an alternative which is cheaper, has anyone any experience of this type of card at around £30?!?

that card is not designed for gaming and will not give you an enjoyable experience. if you want to play games, give up the idea of buying a card at that price. you'll need to spend a bit more to get anywhere near what you want to do with the card. as someone else said, a 3850 would be a great card.

As a rule of thumb, always remember this: The first number on a VGA reflects the series, the second reflects the market class. So 8400 means geforce 8 series, crap class. The same goes for anything under 600 after the generation number (HD3450). At this market range, memory size means absolutely nothing. I understand these cards are very cheap, but honestly, don't expect much more then a integrated VGA. If you cannot afford much more, look for a 8800GS, 9600 or a HD3850. Even the 8600 would be way better than those (though I can't see myself recommending one of those).
