CPU Fan

I have a Coolermaster Hyper TX2 CPU cooler on an XFX 780i Mobo

The TX2 does not support PWM fan control, and the mobo ONLY supports it, so the fan runs at 100% all the time. Since it's not a particularly quiet fan, I'm getting a little tired of it. I don't want to replace the whole cooler, as it's a decent heat sink. Can I just slap a 4-pin 92mm cpu fan on it and be good to go? And if so, where can I get a decent cpu fan that doesn't come with a heatsink?

Thanks.

  1. Yes, you can. You'll have to strap the fan to the heatsink with zip ties.
