I have disconnected my hp dvd room from my old laptop.Därför I intend to use it as an external DVD. But the problem is that the DVD has an E-IDE connector. I wonder if it is possible to convert E-IDE to USB, and if there is already such cables.
Thanks for your help.

There are external cases that will do just what you want to do. Basically, the drive just plugs into a case, which is then connected using a USB cable.

Thanks Casey for the reply.
I could not find anything on the market. Do you know what exactly what they are called, and if you can add a link to one of the product.
Thanks again

I have already found a very cheap DVD case "Laptop CD/DVD-Rom To USB 2.0 External Outdoor Slim Case " on ebay and ordered it from England.
