Hi Guys

I'm in the market for buying a new monitor for my PC. I'm running at 1280-1024 and I really need an upgrade. Anyways, this monitor will primarely be used for PC gaming though having some HDMI or Component cables would be nice. However, they are not 'required', my buy will mostly be based on the quality of the monitor.

I did some research and I think 1920x1080 would suit my needs. I'm running a 2900XT GDDR4 right now but will soon be upgrading to a 4870. Looking at the performance charts I'm thinking that 1080p will more than push the card...

These 3 Dell Monitors look pretty good, though I'm not sure why there is a price differance with the 1st and 2nd links...

So what are your guys' opinions? Any 1080p monitors that are better?

FYI my budget is around 1000 dollars.

Thanks

The price difference is because 2408WFP use S-PVA panel while E248WFP use TN. S-PVA usually offer better image and contrast, while TN have reduced latency. Also, the 2408WFP have all kind of connections. It is a very versatile monitor.

Last week it was $479, a deal that happen 2-3 times a year.

hmm OK I'll start looking around the the 2408WFP. I live in turkey so technology is typically more expensive here, still I may be able to find a good deal. ( Saphire 4870s are sold for 285 bucks!)
