I am trying to decide between these two AGP cards(2600xt and Radeon 3650). I am not going with the HD 3850 because my PSU can not handle it and im trying to put money only into the vid card(tight budget). I plan to plug the card into a SDTV so im not too worried about the resolution. i plan to use it for games (mirrors edge, Dead Space, UT3).

I have an Allied AL-A400ATX PSU

(I think my PSU should be able to handle both these cards, its about 4 years old)

Asus K8NE-Deluxe, AMD 64 Athlon 3200+, 2gb ram

please warn me if you think these cards cards could kill my PSU as it would make this venture worthless.

p.s. here are the cards

The 2600XT will consume more power, since the 3650 is basically a die-shrunk more efficient version, however, I would avoid the crappy DDR2 on the 3650, it's substantially slower than the GDDR3. I say 2600XT, even though 17A is a little low, as long as you don't have a full tower of hard drives and what not you should make it. (Hopefully :p)

the two cards are roughly equal in performance. just make sure you get a GDDR3 card. other than that, just get the cheapest one.

you shouldn't have a problem. i managed to run a 7600GT on a 250W psu with 17A on the +12V rail. the 7600GT and the 2600XT are roughly similar in terms of power consumption, so you should be ok.
