I have been using AVG 7.5 (Free) and Windows Firewall for quite some time now. I'm now looking at paying for a Anti-Virus scanner. My questions are;

1. I'm looking at buying Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. Can anyone recommend it, or should I be looking at other packages?

2. Am I right in think that if I buy the OEM version I will lose the fancy box but save myself £25?

If anyone could reply as soon as possible that would be great as I'm ordering in less then 2 hours.

You want to check out this site: http://internet-security-suite-review.toptenreviews.com/

If you're looking for antivirus only packets, check http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

Personally I use Bitdefender Antivirus 2008, with the standard Windows Firewall. Keeps my computer fast 'n smooth, while pretty secure.

+1 for Avast!

I used AVG Free for awhile. Switched to Avast!, never going back. Very non intrusive, runs silently. I have mine to set to run when screen saver runs so it never slows down my PC when Im using it. Simple enough that even my Mom cant screw it up.

Ok thanks guys. I got the Kaspersky because it was so cheap for 3 licenses and it good good reviews.
Yeah I guessed that I would get less support but there are people on forums I can get help for if something ever did go wrong :)

I've been using kaspersky anti virus edition w/ vista ultimate x64. So far i've been pretty happy with it. But recently I had to remove a virus from a computer work computer. I took the PC home, removed the drive and scanned it with kaspersky. Kaspersky got 1 virus and it failed to remove it, the viruses kept reappering. I then scanned it with avg free edition and it found 5 different viruses. I can't say for sure if AVG actually removed the virus from the system. Cuz by the time i resorted to dl'ing and using AVG I had also deleted just about every file I couldn't identify. But the point is in my real world senario, AVG 5, kaspersky 1.
