Figured as much already... The GTX 260 has some value in it, but the GTX 260 +5% is a waste of money in my opinion. The only thing I have to say is about the naming... GTX 260 Core 216? Really...?

The card could get more help from driver maturity (prob not alot). As well as the regular 260 GTX.

I'm alot more interested on the impact of DX 10.1 on the 4870, if the 20% increase in AA is true, we're looking at the 4870 Competing with the 280 GTX directly then.

they rushed this trough so maybe it could be modded to enable the rest of the shaders and texture units, then you would have a cheap 280 now that would be a good buy

Soooo...why not just make this card initially and give people what they expected from GT200? Seriously, it seems like NV likes to compete with themselves and play with de-tuned cards at launch, only to release a new, slightly better flavor only a few months later...

Considering that the 9800GX2 is faster than the 280GTX and that this new card is in-between the 4870 512mb and 1gb models, I'd say no.

see thats what they do, make you feel inadequate about ur last purchase so you go out and buy the latest card

and btw ur card is still punching above its weight compared to the latest cards

Hehe, yea i do agree with you there. Very clever marketing!

Its cos i JUST bought a cheap 9800 GX2.... like for £165. While the gtx 216 is going for £250

I think that extra cash is worth it :)

Regards

no its not worth it, its not as if it brings anything new to the table like DX10.1 OR DX11, maybe if ur starting from scratch not if you've already got the 9800 GX2
