Change motherboard, grfx and memory.

As motherboard, look at p5q for around 140$, for grfx look at ati 4850 (better than 9800 and cheaper) for like 160$ and for the ram look at g.skill 2x2gb ddr800 4-4-4-12 for 80-90$. This way you will save 200$ and have a better system. For the power supply i suggest antec earthwatt 500w.

Ok sorry i will piss in my pants... 1gb DDR3.. first time i see something strange like that. With 500 watts you should be fine, good brands are corsair, antec and P&C.

What is your hope with this system btw? Vista takes 1gb ram to run so i think you are good to play Minesweeper and solitaire. Last time i saw a system with 1gb ram is when i bought my laptop 3 years ago or when i bought my pc 5 years ago.

Let me re-explain (i hope you can understand)

-You can have 4gb ddr2 800 that will give you the SAME performance as 4gb ddr3 for less than 100$. You chosed 1gb ddr3 ... first of all it's not enough memory, second thing it's expansive for nothing.

ddr2 vs ddr3: http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.aspx?i=2989&p=8

- 4850 is cheaper and better (or equal) to 9800gtx

http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=755&p=8

- The motherboard you chosed is expansive because it has wifi and the cooler things. This is a high end motherboard and if you would overclock i souldnt talk about it. But i know you won't overclock when i see you chosed 1gb ddr3 (that's clear you DON'T know anything about computers). So get a motherboard like this one.

Thats my 2 cents good luck if you don't take the advice cuse this system will last -2 years.

that is too funny. 1gb ram.

so the only help you want is compatability. cool, your choice. make sure to get a good PSU not some off brand. +1 to corsair, antec or pc power and cooling. 500w should be plenty.

i can't help myself. 4gb of ddr 800 is half the price!!!

it's even worst... that much money for NOT a single boost in performance compared to ddr2. I don't know how you were able to register on this forum... go search on internet for more than 2 minutes and come back with something smart.

so now you go from wasting some money to wasting a lot. seriously if you are going to spend that kind of money then build a good system. what are you using it for? you are buying a cheapy graphics card but spending $400 on ram? I'm sorry but i don't understand. do what you want but if you want constructive, good ideas then give us your budget, what you plan to use the computer for and if gaming your monitor resolution and we can give good ideas. if you want to make your own decisions which appear suspect then fine. get that psu and have fun.

in order to try and help we need to know your budget and the resolution of your monitor (or if your budget includes getting a new monitor). For gaming a gpu has a much bigger impact over performance then ram speed. so as far as speed in both gaming and everyday use spending that $$ elsewhere will show much more improvement.

oh and by "everything" what else do you do on a computer? any 3-d stuff like cad? or what programs? when you do game what kinds of games? your useage is very important for determining components.

budget and monitor resolution?

people can just throw ideas out but having all the info first really helps us to give good recommendations. by "fastest" computer it is all relative to budget. the fastest $1000 computer is a lot different then the fastest $10000 computer.

wow soft ps...you're really stubborn...they have told you time after time that ddr3 has no advantage over ddr2...if you want to throw away more than $300, be our guest...
