Dont know If I should push it more. Originally I said I'd just go for 4ghz but meh. Would there be anything wrong with running it at faster speeds even with acceptable voltage 24/7? I'm wanting this pc to last a good while.
The higher you go, the greater chance of disaster (as well as shortened life)...in theory..
You could run it 3.6ghz 24/7 without any trouble (that is what I do). I have been running it this way on stock cooling (not recommended, but sufficient) for quite a while; although, I do have a Xigmatek Dark Knight on the way right now. Your operating temps are so low, you should be able to get away with 3.6ghz no problem. Many people report stable at 3.6ghz and higher on the E8400...myself being one of them!
I've 12+hour tested mine on prime95 with no errors at all, I say "go for it!" and report back with your results.
Well great what are all your voltages? Mine is at 4GHz 24/7 stable at pretty much stock voltages. What motherboard do you have? 4.4GHz is great vcore seems a bit high for a EO stepper. Have you tested stability with prime95?

You must have the best chip of the batch. As well as your e8400 overclocks, I'm surprised it didn't make it to the e8500 or e8600 bin. My early edition e8400, stepping 6, revision CO, can only go to 4.0 GHz (both at 8X 500 or 9X444) but no further and that's on both mobos Asus P5Q SE PLUS and Asus P5ND sli.
IMO, DFI isn't really the brand of choice for overclockers (usually behind Asus, Gigabyte, EVGA) but apparently yours kicks ass.
Certainly a nice, OC! Mine is 24/7 stable, but I could use some help getting it to 4ghz+...anyone with eVGA board experience?? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] w=0&nojs=0 sorry for the link being 2 miles long lol
