I've seen talk about the CM V8 HSF, and it's performance. I made up my mind to get one, pending some opinions.
First.. My idle temps for stock speed is 29C. Pretty good, non? The HSF I have now is a Zalman CNPS9500 AM2 with the LGA1366 bracket. Case is a TT V9 Black Edition.
Load temps with 8 threads of Prime95 blend are approximately 54-55C. That seems to be pretty good too. So my question is:
While I may want a CM V8, would it really benefit me? I can currently get a stable OC of 3,350Mhz with temps just slightly higher, low 30s idle and a hair over 60 under the same load.
With the V8, could I reasonably expect mid-50s with a similar OC while under load?
Is it really worth it if my current HSF is working well?
Question: Would any of you do it?
