My friend's TV capture PCI card doesn't work anymore and he suspects his AWESOME new video card generated enough heat to fry it. (Slim micro-ATX case).

He needs to be able to connect to our cable TV's RF cable so he can watch TV on his Vista computer.

Can you guys recommend a non-**** USB thing we can use to replace it?

If it got fried then putting in another internal one would just lead it to the same fate. You want external, your going to have to get USB. Firewire devices are generally just professional input/output devices without a TV tuner. Just use a USB extension cable and plug this guy in

I like hauppauge stuff for cheap video input. Too bad there aren't anymore high end ATI allinwonders. I think the latest one is based of a Radeon 3650.

Cheap? That's the same I paid for a TVtuner with composite and Svideo 8 years ago!
