So guys, my guestion is this.
I tried to overclock the cpu by adjusting the multiplier from bios, but no luck at all .System fails to boot and i had to remove battery and jumper every time.
So i gave a try to "oc tuner" soft, that came with the mobo (for the first time since i bought the pc) but something strange is happening now! When oc tuner shows for ex that cpu frequency is 3.6ghz with 200 fsb and multiplier x18, everest shows that infact the fsb is decreased to 170. So despite the x18 multiplier the freq remains at 3.1ghz which is stock speed for the 550. Any ideas why?

ps: my mobo is an asrock n61p-s and i m running w7 64 bit but same thing happens when i run vista 32 bit

Thanks in advance

Did you raise the voltage to at least 1.35v? When you raise the multiplier past 3.5Ghz you have to adjust your voltages as well in order to get a stable clock. Don't use OC tuner, use the BIOS to make any changes.
