Most likey... but... 1.8 IDE drives tend to runat 4200 RPM and odds are you will hate it after a it.The file transfer rates are horrendous. If you don't do much you might be ok If you have a higher budget I'd suggest finding a larger SSD instead. Youa re probably talking about 150-200for a 64 GB though.

I would examine the current drive to make sure nothing odd is going on as far as the interior of that model, but I jsut swapped a 1.8 out of a different model today with no difficulty.

I know the SSD's offer greater speed and quiet, but the standard drives offer huge size for very little money. Now though, you have opened a new can of worms!!! Are saying that the file transfer rate will suffer as a result of installing an ide drive into the mini, or do you mean in comparison to the transfer rates of the SSD? I believe you mean the comparitive rates. Am I correct???
