yeah seriously, you need a new cpu. Like, now.

Well since you got a socket 939 board your CPU upgrade options are kinda limited, especially since I believe that's a single core CPU. Anyway I think your best option would be to get a second 7800GT from eBay since you already have an SLi board. A 260 would probably be ok for you, if you have the power supply to handle it, but it wouldn't be much faster than a 9800GTX in most cases due to your CPU. If you really want to get the 260 instead of another 7800GT to tide you over till you can upgrade your board CPU and RAM, then at least see if you can't overclock the CPU to at least 2.6 GHz.

You should be able to run your RAM lower than the FSB to overclock, but I must confess it's been sometime since I overclocked a 939 board. If you need better RAM to overclock consider the Mushkin Redline series.

Hello mate. I have the identical system that you have. Same board, CPU, mem,HDD. Only different power supply. I used to own a 7800GTX (256Mb) and I bought a ATI4870. The bottleneck is tremendous as the card is operating at about 40-50% of it's power. To give you an example, I get 6k stock settings (no oc) and I up the rez to 1920x1200 and I get 6k again. I'm planing on an upgrade soon so I will cary over the card (thats why I don't care that much). Don't bother upgrading your CPU. It's really not worth it. I'd suggest complete overhaul.
