I just put everything together for a new build (first time) and nervously pressed the on button and for a fraction of a second, the fans will turn and ill see led's light, but then it shuts off.. i'm at a complete loss as to where to go from here.

I tested my PSU through the manufacturers online faq http://www.pcpower.com/support/ATX_troubleshoot.htm and it appears to be operating normally.

anyone have advise on how i could troubleshoot this? or any good online resources for first time builders?

Thanks in advance

Clear cmos for 10 mins with power cord unplugged. Try each stick of ram in each slot. If no luck, strip the build to a barebone on the mobo box and hot wire it by shorting the PWRSW pins with the tip of a ball pen. See manual for its location.
