Where does windows XP store desktop background images?

Does anyone know where does windows XP store desktop background images? My present one is a photo I would dearly like to keep but the original I set as such is untraceable for me

Windows xp saves the user's current desktop wallpaper image (from whatever source) in the directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\"user"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft with the name wallpaper1.bmp. When the wallpaper is changed, the new image replaces the old which will be deleted permanetly, not to the recycle bin.
