I really like this card it has been great ...so much so that I went back to get another for SLI but surprise surprise ..they were sold out of the card, now I am finding it hard to get another card thats the excate same.
I am aware that you can use 2 x 8800gt's from different maufacturers.
I have now seen a different card for a resonable price :
However I would just like to be 100 percent sure before spending £100 on this card that might not SLI properly seeing as my Gigabyte card is factory overclocked and the play version that I am considering buying is not factory overclocked.
Also am I correct in saying these cards have the same chip in them (obviously because there both 8800gt range?) Which is what is required for proper sli?
Should I have any concerns about buying this 8800gt ?? and If I do from the specs of these cards which card would be better a the primary card? the gigabyte or the play card?
You won't have any issues with them working together in SLI, but the Gigabyte will clock down in order to match the other card. You can resolve this by OCing the other card as well.
As far as which one for primary and which one for secondary, you want the better cooled one in the hotter position (I can not for the life of me remember if 1st or 2nd is cooler).
nice one guys thats answered my questions much appreciated!
Ps seen a gtx260 going on overclockers on special offer for £164 and was thinkin of jumpin ship and buying that and doing away with the 8800gt sli but since lookin at benchmarks it seems that 2 x 8800gt's in sli are beter that gtx260?
