I recently put together a new system with 2 ASUS 512MB HD4850 cards in Crossfire. After installing a fresh Vista 64 bit, I installed a pre downloaded ATI Catalyst 8.9 Driver and rebooted. OS came back up and I set my resolution for my 19" LCD's maximum of 1280x1024. I then install the Catalyst Control Center 8.9 and reboot, and even though it says I have the same driver version... I now have a maximum desktop resolution of 1024x768. I've been searching online to see if anyone else has had this same issue, but have yet to find a case like mine.
Does anyone here have ideas why my max resolution is capped at 1024x768 ?
I'd hate to have to reformat, reinstall, and only install the driver and not the CCC... I've already gone through 2 formats because of this scenario.

Try turning down the refresh rate under display manager in CCC. I had a similar problem with setting my resolution only to figure out my monitor couldn't handle the resolution i wanted at that refresh rate . So the resolution wasn't shown until i turned down my refresh rate
