Core i7 & Asus P6T Deluxe - Memory selection - dual or tri-channel

Hi, I'm looking at putting the following together in new build:

i7 920 cpu
Asus P6T Deluxe mobo

To be honest, I doubt I will be a serious overclocker... I might try it, but I have a feeling the stock speed will be fine for me. The question is... what RAM do I get? I've read about the warnings for RAM to not exceed 1.65volts.... I've also read that (right now anyway) the Tri-channel memory does not provide any real performance benefits.

So if Tri-channel doesn't matter, I was thinking:

2GB x 2 Dual Channel
2GB x 2 Dual Channel
total of 8GB

This seems to be cheaper now than 2GB x 3 of Tri-channel. And if Tri-channel doesn't make any real difference right now, then 8GB must be better than 6GB right?

So, if 8GB total of dual channel is the way to go, what should I get (I guess needing to watch out for the 1.65volt limit)

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Which dual were you looking at? Not all the tri channel is ridiculously expensive (such as this). However, if dual is still cheaper than even that, I'd say go for it, and yes, make sure that the memory is under 1.65 volts.
