Need Recommendation on a 1TB drive

Hello,

This should be easy. Looking for a drive to replace my 500 GB Seagate. I would go Seagate, but the reviews for the 1TB Seagates are pretty scary, so I just wanted to see what you guys think. Looking for reliability, I don't have a brand preference.

Thank you,

  1. I do: Western Digital. Take note this is a subjective opinion, based on my experience with WD drives.
  2. WD Black. 1TB/7200 RPM /32MB Cache/5yr Warranty

  3. Seagate's 7200.12 series drives are quite good (stay far far away from the .11s), and WD is good as well.
  4. What do you recommend for storage? Exclude the WD Greens as I'm not sure I want to take a chance on them given the parking heads issue.

Well, it is for data mostly so maybe not much of an issue with WD Green but if you have top 3 to 5 1TB or 2TB drives for storage, which ones would you choose?

I thought maybe Samsung F2 or F3 series? EcoGreen or the latest F3?
