I pulled the heatsink out of an old computer today. removed the fan, and scrubbed it clean under the faucet. It's the arctic cooler freezer 7 pro. Was it ok if I did this? It's drying at the moment. I cleaned the contact part of the heatsink with 70% alcohol.

Yes, just fine. Sometimes it takes more than compressed air to clean a dirty heatsink. Let it dry for a couple days.
