I recently installed a new Graphics card to my computer and cannot change the AGP speed. The specs of the computer :
Compaq S6900NX
AMD 3200+
1 gb ram
Sapphire X1650 Pro AGP
ASUS K8N8X-LA Motherboard
I cannot set my AGP speed using SMARTGART in the catalyst control panel. It is set to 'Off'. When I try setting it to '4x or 8x', it asks me to restart. Once the pc has restarted it is set to 'Off' again. No amount of fiddling will make it stick.
The only drivers I can find for the Motherboard is from the HP site and updating the BIOS did nothing. THe motherboard does support 8x AGP
Is there a way I can fix this or Should I not be concerned about this ? I have some degradation in performance and some games keep crashing on me which I've read can be fixed by changing the Bios or the AGP speed
Thanks
