Help installing DVD-RW

I have a lite-on DVD-RW that used to work fine. Now Windows keeps telling me there is a problem with the driver. Dont know how to fix this, dont want to buy more software or anything. Any suggestions? I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, it still doesnt work.

Just expanding a little. Windows can find and begin installing the DVD player right away. It will still open, so its still getting power. During installation I keep getting an error message that a problem occured during installation.
