Can I use an IED Hard Drive in SATA serial computer

I have a somewhat older WD600 Enhanced IED Hard Drive that I would like install in a Dell Inspiron 530 that uses serial SATA drives. I would like to use the WD drive as a backup.

If you have an IDE connector it will be easy to install. If the drive will be the only drive on the cable remove the jumper and connect it up. Make sure bios is set to boot from SATA first.
If you only have SATA connections then you will need to get an IDE - SATA adapter.
