I currently own ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe with my AMD processor, and need a good mobo for my new gear:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 + GeForce GTX 280

Not huge into overclocking, but am curious as to what you would currently recommend for a moderate gamer (COD:WW & WoW).

You won't need the E8600 or GTX 280 to play COD or WoW that's for sure! But you'll have a rock solid gaming machine for Crysis, Far Cry 2, etc.

I would start off looking at the Intel based P45 boards, or something newer generation. Intel chipset is probably most stable (if you want to OC later) but won't support SLI.

If you want SLI, you're more limited as you'll be forced to go with a 780i board or something similar.

That A8N-SLI was a good board in its time though :) I have one machine running one with an AMD 4400+, and another sitting on the shelf with a 3500+ on it. ;)

just to start off im running the gigabyte ep45t-ds3r with my e8600 and 4870
reasonably straight forward bios with plenty of room around the cpu to install my aftermarket cooler.

im sure theres plenty of others that will be recommended.
