Newegg has some 4870's with 1GB of memory on them, is it worth it or is it just a gimmick?

I'd also appreciate in 4870 owners weighing in on the size of the card, was it difficult to install?

I installed mine into a small micro atx case without a problem. Catalyste and driver's all installed flawlessly and im running Vista 64 bit.

At high res, with games with alot of textures, especially newer games, yes it helps alot

To bad the 256bit bus kills that card at high resolutions.

Yeah, I saw a bench somewhere that showed a significant increase, but I can't find it now.

Get the one that cools better.

Definitely worth it. You'll see the difference on AA settings. However, I bought the X2, so bandwidth is not a problem.
