Hello,
I'm putting the finishing touches on my current build project. To summarize:
Core2Quad Q9650
Sapphire 4870x2
4x2GB OCZ DDR1066
LG Blu-Ray Burner/HD DVD-ROM

I'm looking to get a nice monitor to take advantage of this. I'm thinking 30" would be pretty sweet, and was looking at maybe the Dell 3007WFP-HC
( http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=222-7175 )
I was also looking at the Samsung 305T, but the fact that it doesn't support HDCP and only has one DVI input is a bit of a turn off for me.

Any input as to what people think of the dell monitor? Would this perform well for gaming and watching movies?
Also, any input on the 30" screen size in general. I'm wondering if maybe 30" might be too much. Should I go with a 24" instead? I want to go as big as I can while still maintaining usability.

I think I've finalized the rest of my specs, so this is the last (and possibly most expensive) decision I have to make before my build is officially complete! :)

Thanks!

If will usually be closer than 3 feet to the monitor, go with a 24" or you're going to be moving your head a lot trying to see the whole screen.

If you're going to use this to watch Hi-Def movies and have a couch or something to watch from a bit of a distance, definitely go for the 30".

rgeist is right... it depends on how far away you are going to sit from it.

if this will be a regular monitor on your desk, then 24" is PLENTY.

I have used my samsung 46" 1080P LCD TV with the vga hookup on my pc and it worked fantastic... played BF2 for days sitting on the couch lol.

I just got the Samsung T260 HDTV......It's 1920X1200 monitor, and converts to a true 1080p. Got it for $500 at circuit city, after discount and $50 mail in rebate. If you're planning on gaming, 26" is definitely plenty big enough.
