Cant figur out whats wrong with my dvdrw

i installed a firmware update but drive still isnt working correctly. it reads cd and burnt dvds but will not read bought dvds. driver is up to date just dont know what else to do. any ideas on how to fix problem will be appreciated.

    If you have another PC to try it in would be one option but it sounds like you need a new drive. :(
  2. DVD drives enforce DVD region codes. If you're trying to read commercial disks that are coded for a different region than the player is set to then you'd be out of luck.

    You need a DVD player program to read DVD movies, such as Cyberlink PowerDVD.
  4. And the program should be on one of the disks that came with your system.
  5. i got dvd codecs installed and nero showtime. but i will check region code
