dell gx620 ram upgrade

ok I have a severely ram challenged dell optiplex gx620. its running a pentium d 820 xp and it only has 512mb of ram. im looking to upgrade to 2 gigs since it so cheap. there some crucial and kingston on newegg that will work fine. theres also some g skill that has a bit tighter timings, but is not guaranteed 100 percent compatible. now it will probably work fine, but was just wondering has anyone used the gskill ddr677 in a dell optiplex?? any issues with using non guaranteed compatible ram with any systems??
