Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650 - $1020

OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 - $300

ASUS Rampage Extreme LGA 755 - $433

Fujitsu MBA3147NP 147GB 15000 RPM - $230

total: $1983

Those ummmmm.... 8800GTS SSC 640MB?? (~LMAO~) arent going to work in that X48 Rampage Extreme motherboard.

You also seem to be over budget - even without an optical drive, keyboard, mouse, monitor and operating system.

Funny you should ask that. I have just a little more than that to spend on a build. But it was still up in the air on whether to build now or wait until the i7 was released and build something based on that.

When you say i7 I assume you are talking about nehalem. I personally wouldnt wait because more then likely they will drop fast in price.

Yes I was. I have a little over $3000 left to spend on the interals of a new system and was looking to build something high/higher end.

The last time I built a system the Athlon64's were just released so I need to relearn all the new current stuff.
