Hey guys im in the market for buying a new video card. Would a 9800 GT X2 be better then a gtx280? Im planning on getting one or the other because there is an even on pink friday that gives 50% off of computer hardware. If anyone has any reccomendations please let me know.

If you want to know about the 50% off event on pink friday (black friday) check out my youtube video for more details. The sale will be held by tigerdirect one of the leading computer tech companies.

It varies a bit depending which program/game, but generally the GTX 280 is better.

But since you seem to be going for high end gaming, i would strongly recommend going a little bit higher in price and getting a 4870X2.

nope. 8800GT SLI smashes a GTX 280, and overclocked, they would be much faster. SOME 9800GT's are built on 55nm (ie, nvidia was lazy, and rolled out some on 65nm as a rebadged 8800GT) and as such are cooler and will oc much better!
SLI FTW!

2 9800gx2? Yes. You'll need a sli motherboard. Quad gpu don't scale as well as dual.

the gtx280 is faster than the 9800gx2 at extremely high res and AA, otherwise not
