Hi Im new on these forums as poster previously as reader though,

Pardon my swedish btw...

My system:
Mobo: New! Gigabyte GA M57sli-S4 rev. 2.0 not updated bios yet.

Vid: New! 1 Asus 9500GT-OC
PSU: New! Xion 630W Sli-Ready
HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax22 500GB Sata, not raided @ ide emu...
Mouse: A4Tech X-750F
Keyboard: Logitech G15
Sound: on mobo (some Realtek)
Ethernet: on mobo
OS: Windows XP SP2 incl. 15.23 Nforce drivers.

I starting to loose faith in getting my computer working...
Sometimes get BSODs at random in windows everything from stop:0x0000007a, stop:0x0000005a and some more i cant remember, even one about ACPI not being supported on my mobo (made sure my serial-, parallelport were enabled as someone suggested). It often freeze at desktop after 30-60 sec... when I try to use the mouse the buttons stop working after som clicking, pointer is movable though... after my mouse is not working if i touch the keyboard It will stop working too, I even see at the clock in the G15 display when it stops, then after a minute I get BSOD... For a while I got BSOD and instant restart while loading xp.
Cant boot to Safe-Mode gets black and restart computer. Pretty much defaults in bios, USB mouse disabled since I got DMI- Flash Protected
Well when doing dosbased programs it have been on for days without interupts, so I wonder if I should satisfy with dos as my OS...

What I have done:
Seatools bootable: Both short and long test twice, passed everytime. Low-level formatted after that.
Memtest86 v3.2 bootable: 3 hours, 6 passes and no errors, so far up and running.
Windows XP Pro SP2: Reinstalled 2 times, last one after low-level format.
Drivers: Nforce 15.23, Nvidia 180.48, Sound driver from Gigabyte driver cd.
Installed: F-Secure

Im going to bed now, but if anyone have any questions or suggestions please post because it feels like Im banging my head against a wall... :pt1cable:

Thanks in advance!

Could certainly be a PSU issue, but its possible that your bios settings are FUBAR. Search for issues regarding your motherboard model and XP. YOu should also run MemTest 86, http://www.memtest86.com/ as your ram may be bad.
One question, did you reinstall windows when you got your new hardware? If not, windows may be looking for old devices.

Thanks for your replies

Well, maybe its a PSU issue... Had that thought myself.
My CPU is the 89w btw and Im not running SLI, only got 1 9500GT.

Tried uping the volt previously step by step for all components w/o any luck.
Now is only ram up by +0.2v to 2.0v although its ony necessary when its @1066, its been at 800 all time.

Timings are manually set to 800Mhz and 6-6-6-18-2T which are standard for this Kingston.

I have searched for issues regarding XP and this mobo for a week and Ive tried all i found, trial n error, no luck.

I have run and still running MemTest 86 for 12 hours now 25 passes and no errors.

I reinstalled Windows twice, last on after a low-level format of my hd just to be sure if it was a mbr virus or likewise...

I will reinstall XP again with only newest Nforce drivers and skip the other drivers and to see if it runs longer.

No good with the reinstall.

But here´s whats happening:
Got 0x000000f4 BSOD yesterday.
When in windows my Sata drive shuts off more or less, more often when stressed. Noticed that when I had luck to have it going for 10 minutes I could switch between the different windows when it crashed that was open by clicking on them but couldnt open anything new. My conclusion are those windows were in my ram and the hdd lamp was black so its my Sata drive, mobo or PSU.

If it were my Sata drive malfunctioning I should not get only passes in Seatools different tests right? Which i get... If I add a fresh windows bootable ide-disc and get same problem I could rule out the disc?

It could be my mobo but I dont know how to test it...

I think its more and more the PSU thats not power enough and it cant keep up the Sata drive when it needs more juice. Alright it keeps going in dos but then the other components like gfxcard take less power, right?

Do this make any sense? Should I rule out the mobo?
