Strange issue with new P5Q build, failure town ahoy-

I recently purchased components for a new build:

HD 640G|WD 7K 16M WD6400AAKS
CASE ANTEC|SONATA PLUS 550
MB ASUS P5Q 775 P45 ICH10R
EVGA 512- 8800GT
CPU INTEL|C2Q Q9300 2.5G 775 6M
MEM G-Skill 2Gx2|GKS F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ

I assembled the machine and powered it on. It powered on OK but I was getting the loud persistent beep that indicates that I forgot to plug in the extra power to the video card. Powered the machine down, plugged in the extra power cable to the 8800GT, then pushed the power button again.

NO result. No fans spinning, no nothing. The light on the motherboard is on so I know it's getting power, but no matter what I change the machine doesn't even power up at all. I've swapped out all the RAM into different slots and different configurations, I've reset the CMOS, I've tried without a video card to see if the MB would complain, it doesnt get that far.

I'm at a loss, can anyone help?

Figured it out... turns out my UPS went bad and immediately fried my power supply. That rocks!

At least no RMA for me
