Case fan connected to PSU fan header?

Can I connect a case fan (3 pin connector) to the PSU fan header on my M3N78 MoBo? My PSU (Ultra 650) does NOT have a separate fan control connector.

I could perhaps rename the PSU fan to something else in the control software?

Just get an adapter to connect it directly to the PSU. You don't need the MB trying to control the speed of the fan based on non-existent PSU temp readings.

Yep no problems, that will run fine. They just call it the PSU header as some PSUs have a sensor wire which you can connect to monitor the speed of the fan inside the psu, but it works as a normal fan header.
