I was just messing around inside of my case, happened to touch the northbridge heatsink and realized it was VERY hot. Almost burnt my fingers to the touch. I'm using an ASUS A8N-SLi Premium socket 939, AMD X2 3800+ 2.0GHz, 2 Gb Corsair DDR Ram, and a 3850. I was wondering if there were any quick fixes. I have not overclocked the processor or videocard. Is there an easy way to cool this off.

Pop the hood of your car after drive and touch your engine. It will be very hot, is that a problem? No, at least not most of the time. You don't have a problem best that I tell. If you have an urge to keep economy going there are load of solution out there.

The thermal envelope is generally much higher on chipsets, I'm sure you could find the specs of yours if you are really that worried One of those mini-kazes is pretty easy to install if you had to do something or just wanted to fiddle around.
